ImSym 2025.03 provides faster, more powerful capabilities for simulating an end-to-end imaging system.

• Detector effects on the total irradiance in an imaging system are often a function of image position and the incident ray bundle and are collectively characterized by the detector's relative angular response (RAR). ImSym now provides the capability to specify measured response data and simulate the response for given angles and wavelengths. This is an important consideration when modeling detector arrays that use microlenses, since the microlenses alter the responsivity of the detector with angle of incidence.
• In the Stray Light Scanner, which enables you to assess stray light due to sources within the scene and external light sources inside or outside the field-of-view, you can now easily change the scan field angle (a.k.a. the radial angle) and the azimuthal angle separately. You can also dial in the field angle and azimuthal angle and align, calibrate, and trace rays for the source interactively.
• To expand analysis capabilities for asymmetric systems, the Stray Light Scanner provides the following new Beta options for Scan Symmetry types: Bilateral, Rectangular, or no symmetry, in addition to the already supported circular or rotationally symmetric option. Non-symmetric lens properties are displayed in the ImSym Lens Properties pane.  
• To simplify and streamline the ImSym user experience, this release includes the following usability enhancements.
  • Spectral basis functions displayed on the Scene Object Spectral Chart clarify how ImSym computes the full continuous spectrum.
  • A troubleshooting tool reports the ratio of samples in the scene object file to detector pixels, which can indicate when the number of samples in the scene may not  be sufficient for a desired simulation.
  • A simplified Detector screen organizes options by functionality on four tabs, including a Dashboard to access features that are frequently needed.
  • Expressions allowed for numeric fields provide a more efficient input method.
  • Text-based files supported for detector spectral data.
